Here’s to life and every joy it brings,
Here’s to life, to dreamers and their dreams,
May all your storms be weathered,
And all that’s good get better,
Here’s to life,
Here’s to love,
Here’s to you.

Late Life Lament
Items of life lived,
Stored in boxes, in binders,
Stored on hard drive, and in myself
Together now my intimidating to-do bucket List
A treasure-trove calling for attention.
Sharing is the plan.
To put all together coherently for family now and for the ages.
Competing late-blooming, new possibilities unfold, intervene
Beckon like cow bells over the next mount.Seductions.
Today there’ll be more bucket stuff to collect
More in boxes, binders, hard drive, and in myself
Diminishing capacity… decreasing time
The reality of my now
Slowing, growing inefficiency.
There is Urgency alongside serene acceptance,
Coupled With increasing wonder
At the splendour of this very moment
Another day to be lived…
And the boxes, hard drives, binders … hmmm!
